THE Three Wise Men rode into a west Wicklow town earlier this month to mark the Epiphany.
The Feast of the Epiphany is a celebration of when the Three Wise Men arrived to present their gifts to the baby Jesus.
This was marked at St Joseph’s Church in Valleymount by a procession through the village, the mounted wisemen led by their guiding star, as in the biblical story.
Playing the leading roles were season wise men John Brophy, Don O’Sullivan and Donie McEvoy, while Mary, Joseph and the Baby Jesus were played by Davide and Rachele and their new baby.
Local children carried the star in the procession and many community members sang as celebrations continued inside the church, including Sylvia Kavanagh and Noel Nolan and the Shared Spirit group.
